Who is the best domain name registrar?

Sup all 🙂 I hope you all are doing good in your life. I’m here today to answer a very important question for people who want to start a website. The question of all ages, which domain name registrar should I choose when I want to start my website? In this article, I’ll try to help you and answer your question. We gonna know together through this article who is the best domain name registrar.

First of all, let’s define some basics.

What is a domain name?

domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or control within the Internet. Domain names are used in various networking contexts and for application-specific naming and addressing purposes. In general, a domain name identifies a network domain, or it represents an Internet Protocol (IP) resource, such as a personal computer used to access the Internet, a server computer hosting a website, or the web site itself or any other service communicated via the Internet. In 2017, 330.6 million domain names had been registered.

String means letters and numbers, it can’t have a special character in it. It’s a sum of letters and numbers pointing to your server’s IP address through DNS or “Domain name system”.

Every web server has an IP address that’s unique if it’s dedicated. It might also be a shared IP but for the purpose of this article. I’ll assume you know the difference and when I refer to IP, I’ll be referring to a static IP address.

A string point to your website’s IP address, that’s it.

What is a domain name registrar?

domain name registrar is a company that manages the reservation of Internet domain names. A domain name registrar must be accredited by a generic top-level domain (gTLD) registry or a country code top-level domain (ccTLD) registry. A registrar operates in accordance with the guidelines of the designated domain name registries.

Simply it’s a license from an ICANN organization to be authorized to sell a domain name.

How to become a domain name registrar?

You would have to get approval from ICANN, it’s a process where you can read more about this through this link.

How to choose the right domain name registrar?

This is what I want to talk about in this article. First of all, it has to be registered in ICANN, in this list, you would find the authorized domain name registrar. So, start from this list.

The trick is how you don’t get fooled by cheap offers. Most of these offers are coming from sub-affiliate or resellers which means that you are giving your information, your domain name, and your whole business to a freelancer or some reseller, not to an accredited company.

Why I should choose my domain name registrar very carefully?

Well, first of all, if you get stuck with a reseller then you are putting yourself in a position where your whole business would be in some unknown person and they could do anything with it.

Some cases that came through my website development journey were a very bad experience. After the website succeed the reseller would just acquire the domain name for himself, just like that. Some of these cases cost a lifetime of work and a large amount of money. While in our business this is something that could happen because of the reseller model, however, I have seen worse.

I saw a case a few months ago about a person whose domain name was taken because of a nonsense complaint. According to his ranting, they took it and sold it as a premium domain name.

That’s why you should consider your domain name provider very carefully, it’s your work and your life. For me, the best choices lead to the best results.

Who is the best domain registrar?

That’s an easy question, according to my personal experience and based on the criteria in this article I will rate the following from the best to the worst:

  4. I would dare to suggest too.

Some say Godaddy is worth to try but I find Godaddy is a little bit overpriced and I did not try it so I can’t say.

I transferred this domain from to in 2020 because of the things we discussed earlier, it’s a business based on trust so I  suppose I do trust Namecheap with my work.

To sum up, In order to grow your business and not let others scam you. You will have to choose a company that cares, is honest, and complies with the law because if you just choose any random company even if it’s legitimate you might be putting yourself at risk.

Choose wisely and don’t think about saving a dollar or two, instead choose someone you can trust and rely on.
