Resident Evil Village Pros
The environment of Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil village is coming in strong with mesmerizing graphics, amazing details, and a sinister rural setting. You will be able to feel the influence of Resident Evil 4 and 5. The game takes place in a village surrounded by a castle, palace, mansion, swamp, a mine, and a factory. Almost immediately you become surrounded by rabid local Lycan, which serves as a warm welcome. making for a captivating and combat-heavy storyline.
Fighting
Combat is close to the previous game, with the ability to repel the enemies away after countering their attacks, but with a larger weapon inventory. There is a sense of traditional gameplay, in the fact that there is luggage management and keys to unlock new areas. The gameplay is amazing and quite fun, like what you will expect from Resident Evil. There is also a nice amount of puzzles to keep you entertained.
Gaming Style
Resident Evil Village is quite diverse. It feels like a combination of several games in the series. The mansion and the village are similar to the first and fourth game in the series respectively. On top of that, there are entire areas based on puzzles, action, and deadly powerful bosses. We can confidently say that this part of the series succeeded in delivering and blending these elements more than the sixth part.
The Village in Resident Evil Village
The village is full of secrets and treasures. There are also a lot of side quests available like hunting, puzzles, treasure hunting, fighting strong selective enemies, and so much more. Whenever you feel like taking a break from the main storyline and boosting your character. You will always find something to do. This storyline is a direct continuation of the last game. But, it has a wider scope in regards to the events, and the main and side characters.
After Finishing Resident Evil Village
You don’t think that after finishing the game, you will be done, do you? Well, No. you will find a store, that you can buy things from, with the in-game currency that you will earn from completing challenges. Things including Mercenaries mode, weapons, infinite bullets, statues, art images, and much more. Which will give you the motive to complete the challenges.
Mercenaries Mode
The Mercenaries mode is back with a different taste. It’s a single-player mode, and you get to play as Ethan. To win, you will first have to buy weapons and bullets, then try to kill your enemies quickly, collect the money, and move to the next stage. Rinse and repeat till either you win, your character dies, or your time runs out.
Resident Evil Village Cons
Old Ages
The biggest con in Resident Evil Village is perhaps, the distracted they used, to try to reintroduce settings used in previous games, but, failing to make it as good. They try to keep up with the fourth part, but, fail miserably, as the dialogue is a bit stagnant and artificial, and your enemies quickly lose interest in chasing you. Which can take part of the fun away. They do try rather hard to bring back the unique parts that were included in previous games in one place. Unfortunately, they don’t do these parts justice, Kudos for trying though.
Dialogues
The third and seventh parts of the series presented a positive shift in the Resident Evil universe. However, Resident Evil Village felt more like the sixth part of the series, and other earlier parts as well, in regards to the story and dialogue. Even Ethan’s character is shallow, with a few worn-out dialogs, that don’t add much to the story. There is a big room for improvement.
The Horror
The challenge and horror factors are lacking a bit. In the first half of the game there weren’t a lot of enemies, in the second part they increased but so did the weapons. There were a few rare moments of excitement when fighting the bosses, but, they were few and far in between.
Graphics Quality
There was also a slight discrepancy in the graphics, specifically in the village it was strangely lacking, and we couldn’t help but be disappointed.
Video Game
Verdict
In conclusion, Resident Evil village is thrilling. You will be able to unravel the darkest secrets of one of the main cast. The fights were a bit of a letdown. But there is a great variety of enemies to keep things interesting. if you are itching for action-heavy survival horror, then Resident Evil Village is your game. But we will leave the decision in your hands.
